wheel.me revs up with Siemens Xcelerator to master factory robotics.

Key Points:

  • Norwegian startup wheel.me has chosen Siemens Xcelerator as a Service to develop its Genius 2 autonomous mobile robot.
  • Genius 2 can transform any object into an autonomous mobile robot, improving intra-logistical operations on the factory floor.

Siemens Digital Industries Software has announced that wheel.me, a startup focused on autonomous factory automation, has selected the Siemens Xcelerator as a Service portfolio of industry software to develop its next-generation product, Genius 2. Genius 2 is an autonomous system that can turn almost any object into an autonomous mobile robot, enabling efficient transportation of goods on the factory floor without human intervention. The software allows for customizable process flows and centralized control and is adaptable to different loads and sizes. The startup chose to switch from its existing multi-vendor toolset to Siemens’ Mechanical Design bundle and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software for mechanical engineering and design. The scalability and flexibility of the Siemens Xcelerator toolset were key factors in the decision. The startup is experiencing rapid growth and aims to meet growing demand globally, especially in Europe and the US.
