Google’s AI IDE Project IDX now includes Android and iOS simulation.

Google has added new features to its cloud-based development environment, Project IDX. The platform, which is still in public preview, aims to offer AI-enhanced, cloud-based integrated development for developers. It is built on Code OSS, the open-source foundation of Microsoft Visual Studio Code, and uses Google’s PaLM 2 large language model. The latest additions to Project IDX include an iOS simulator and an Android emulator built directly into the browser, allowing developers to preview their apps without exiting the workspace. There are also new templates for spinning up new projects and support for importing repositories from GitHub. However, the service is still experimental and is not intended for use in a production environment.
