Güde GmbH, a German manufacturer of spring washers and other components, has chosen Jungheinrich to automate its small parts warehouse in Plettenberg, Germany. The warehouse will have two aisles measuring 40 metres long and 7.3 metres high, with space for 12,480 containers weighing up to 50kg each. The containers will be stored double deep to maximise storage capacity. The system will be controlled by Jungheinrich’s Warehouse Control System, which can store and retrieve up to 330 containers per hour. Jungheinrich’s STC storage and retrieval machines, which travel at speeds of up to 6 metres per second, will be used to operate the aisles.
