igus, a leading manufacturer of motion plastics, has released a new AI-powered mobile app called igusGO. This free application helps users identify the most suitable igus products, such as bearings, linear guides, and cable carriers, for their specific applications. Users simply have to take a photo of their equipment, and the app’s AI capabilities will recommend the ideal igus products to enhance cost-efficiency and extend the service life of the machine or equipment.

Designed as a 24/7 service, the igusGO app not only bridges a knowledge gap for customers but also serves as a platform for users to share their projects and ideas. With a growing database, the app currently recognizes over 450 different industrial applications. Frank Blase, CEO at igus, highlighted the aim to create a community-centric space within the app. He also emphasized that the app functions as much more than a service tool, but rather a source of inspiration for its users.

Additionally, the igusGO app simplifies the process of reordering spare parts. Peter Wirth, Head of Digital Sales and Marketing at igus, explained that upon taking a photo of an installed product, the app can identify the correct replacement part number from 50 available product series, thereby expediting the ordering process.

Available for free download in English and German on Android and iOS platforms, and as a web version, future updates to the igusGO app will incorporate an AI chatbot to answer common user queries. This launch solidifies igus’s commitment to leverage AI in enhancing their services and fostering customer engagement.
