Square Enix President, Takashi Kiryu, expressed his desire for the company to become more aggressive in using artificial intelligence (AI) in game development. In a letter to employees, Kiryu discussed the firm’s plans for the future, including the use of AI and other cutting-edge technologies. He outlined short-term goals of enhancing development productivity and marketing efforts, as well as long-term goals of leveraging AI to create new forms of content. Kiryu also mentioned the company’s plans to invest in blockchain entertainment and “Web 3.0.” The use of AI in game development has been increasing, leading to faster and more affordable processes, but also sparking ongoing debate.
