Salesforce made an announcement concerning its Einstein Copilot at the Salesforce World Tour New York 2023 event. The conversational AI assistant, set to be integrated within all Salesforce applications, has received an upgrade that enables it to retrieve information from unstructured data. Essentially, this refers to unorganised data entries like emails and PDF documents.
This new feature is expected to be beneficial to Salesforce customers, including those in sales, customer service, IT, marketing, and commerce, who constantly handle daily business operations like emails, which frequently lack a neat illustration into datasets.
Apart from that, Salesforce introduced Einstein Copilot Search. This will be found in Einstein Copilot, boasting “enhanced AI search capabilities.” The new feature will be able to deal with sophisticated prompts and offer smart suggestions by engaging with real-time structured and unstructured business data.
Einstein Copilot and Copilot Search will access unstructured data through Salesforce’s Data Cloud Vector Database. This database brings together all business data, structured or unstructured—like product inventory, purchase history, transcripts, and documents.
One of the notable benefits of the Data Cloud Vector is that it eliminates the necessity to fine-tune large language models (LLMs), saving businesses both money and time. Furthermore, LLMs can now access information that was previously unreachable, due to training data constraints, according to Salesforce.
The Data Cloud Vector Database and Einstein Copilot Search will be under pilot in February 2024, while Einstein Copilot will be generally available on the same date. Salesforce’s GM of Data Cloud and Einstein, Rahul Auradkar, stated that this release would alleviate the costly and complicated processes for garnering value from unstructured data. He further expressed that customers could now reason with the full range of their enterprise data to power their business applications more effectively.
