AI on the Lot Sets TIFF Pop-Up Event

AI on the Lot has partnered with the Toronto International Film Festival to host a pop-up event in September focusing on the potential of generative AI tools for visual media. The presentation aims to demonstrate how filmmakers are already incorporating AI in storytelling. The event, open to credentialed festival-goers, will take place on September 8 at Glenn Gould Studio, followed by a happy hour.

The event will also feature the premiere of a short documentary called “Cinema Synthetica,” which showcases nine filmmakers who participated in a 48-hour challenge to produce short films using AI tools. This contest was part of the AI on the Lot conference in Hollywood.

Participants at the event include notable figures such as Walter Woodman, founder of Shy Kids, and Nik Kleverov, chief creative officer of Native Foreign. The event will be moderated by Todd Terrazas, executive director of Artificial Intelligence Los Angeles.
